After taking up photography as a hobby it's not long before you begin to see the world through the eyes of a camera. Every scene, every piece of action, every novel image can be turned into a photograph. An image to capture and keep for ever. To hold and treasure or just store in the digital device.

This new way of seeing the world can help us become more attuned to what is happening around us, but also to ourselves. We begin to learn about the sights that interest us. We notice and reflect upon what might have gone unnoticed and unreflected upon before. We start to notice themes and patterns in what we see.

We become more attuned to sounds and smells, to all of our senses in fact. We know that they signal to us a potential image that could be formed and captured.

We share our work, giving something of ourselves, of our lives to others. Sometimes this encourages them to do the same. It's can become a brand new way to connect with people, to tap into each other's lives in different, may be deeper ways.
