Once while living abroad in a country where I didn't really speak the language I managed to get on the wrong bus. Which turned out to be a great thing because, while I didn't arrive where I planned to go I arrive where I needed to be.
In Douglas Adams' (the author of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) in his series of books "Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency" his holistic detective doesn't follow suspects to solve a crime, he simply follows a random car which, due to the interconnectedness of the all things, takes him where he should be.
Most people I know who tell me they are feeling lost actually have a different problem, they don't know where they should be going.
Maybe if you are not sure where you should you have already arrived.
