When you are trying to lose weight, sometimes it feels like the whole world is against you. Jealous friends may be hoping you fail, jealous spouses may want you to stay the way you are, and stay with them.
Every time you look at the TV or read the newspaper you see ads for the foods that caused you weight explosion. Exercise classes and diet 'experts' are too expensive and don't teach you real life ways to lose your weight and keep it off. They only show you how to do it if you stick with them.
But what if you can do it by yourself and do it well? It is certainly possible to lose weight, and save money doing it. Most people in the Western World simply eat too much, and don't eat the right foods. Vegetables are too often ignored in favour of sweet and/or fatty foods. If you simply exchange some of those sweet fruits or cakes/cookies with vegetables, you will straight away begin losing weight.
The reason for this is simply that raw vegetables, such as carrots, celery, mushrooms and so on have far fewer calories. You can in fact eat more of these foods, and similar others, and still lose weight.
I have gone down this road too, but I did it alone, struggling with myself, my friends and family, people who knew me and disapproved of what I was doing. Now, at my idea weight, I have so much more self-confidence and so much more self esteem I know I am a winner because I won the weight loss course. The vegetable way to healthy living is certainly cheaper than trying to burn off excess calories by getting a gym membership. Once you become accustomed to eating a healthier range of foods, the weight will drop off, and you can get out your older clothes again, the ones that you can't fit into any more. Being able to wear those lovely jeans you used to love so much in the past is a great feeling!
