When was the last time you went out to play? When was the last time you gave yourself permission to go and have some fun? Does it feel like it was forever ago?
Do you remember summer games on the beach, playing cricket, volleyball, Frisbee? Do you remember long walks in the sand and collecting shells? Do you remember walking in the rain just to get wet? How about telling ghost stories while you were camping?

How about playing with balloons?
And what about those walks through the forest where you got to look for caterpillars, koalas, or at blooming flowers?
Think back and try to remember, how long has it been?
Ok - so why so long? Do you not deserve to have some fun in your life? Does your inner child not deserve to come out and play?

Bring your inner child out to play!
You do deserve to go out and have some fun. In fact it is essential to living a full life.
When we are children we wonder at it all, we play sports, dawdle, jump in puddles, fly kites, run down the street, make blanket tents, use every surface as a place to drive your toy car or walk your doll. So why do we stop?
There is a part of us all, as kids, that wishes to grow up, to be older, to be responsible. Then it happens. We grow up, go to high school and college and we get older. Then we just keep getting older. We stop playing. We are grown up and we act the part. We work, shop for groceries, work some more. Then we get up and do the same thing all over again.

How about finger painting?
Yes, life is busy and you need to work to make money to get ahead, but how many people do you know that actually stop and just enjoy themselves?
This where our lives depend on us playing, acting like children and having fun, at least for a couple hours a week. Life is too short and many of us move through it without really appreciating it or looking at it. Stress and adrenaline can only sustain you for so long before you crash and burn.

Swinging with your kids can be fun!
Your health depends on a good stress reliever to bring you back fresh. Go play some sports, go to an amusement park. Do something that is not regimented, not planned, not on a schedule.
You need to go! Take the dog and just run on the beach, go sit on the swings with your kids, do something that releases the child inside you so that you can release the grown up inside of you. If only for a few hours, laugh until you cry, fall down dizzy, or jump in leaves until they end up in your pants.

Laugh until you cry!
Go on, release your inner child. The adult in you will thank you.
