Being Your Own Hero

Alive and well at 60 and still adventuring!!

I spent my younger years daydreaming, disconnected from my body, and living in fantasy and science fiction books and movies. And I grew up believing I wanted to save the world.

I really wished to change the world!

I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to rid the world of chaos, hunger, strife, evil doers, injustices, hardships, perverted uncles and child abusers. I wanted so badly to have the courage to stand up for myself.

So, after much healing and working on myself I started an energy healing business. With the knowledge behind me I was going to be the peoples' hero and save them.

It would be great and I had learned so much about healing. However, what I didn't take into account was the fact that I do not have what it takes to be in business.

Don't get me wrong, I am highly organized, and am hard working. What I don't have is the drive, the marketing or people skills to put myself out there and make a good go of it.

Be your own beacon of light!

Twice now I have set up businesses.

I had the talent for my landscaping and garden design business but I never went back to see how my clients felt about their gardens.

With energy healing I was going to let the universe lead people to me. If you build it they will come. I had 3 clients over 9 months. The healing and guidance was mutually beneficial but not everyone wants to heal. Sadly I failed at being a hero, at least within my perception.

Once again I became my own healer, freeing myself from illusion.

wishing well
I am ok!

I learned that I am ok, I am me, I don't have to keep doing something when it does not work for me. I do not have to feel bad because I am not a successful business woman. I can still help people to learn to love themselves, to realize that you need the dark along with the light.

I was the child of alcoholics and I grew up with no self esteem. I did not believe in myself and I did not love myself.

Because of this I always wanted to be loved. It was the most important thing to show my kids while they were growing up. So instead of the business I have been posting videos on my Facebook page, Clarity Energy Healing. If you want to check them out they deal mostly with ways to love yourself and heal.

Now I am my own hero. I am doing something I love, I am sending out love to others. I am treating myself with respect and kindness, and am owning my gift.

Love yourself first!

When you live your life with love for yourself, it makes you the hero of your own story.

Maybe you are destined for greatness, to be a hero, or maybe you aren't. Maybe you are meant to be a policeman or nurse, or not. But we can change the definition of hero because being your own hero means you get to look at yourself with realistic eyes and accept who you are and live by that.

If you want to be a hero to someone, smile at them. Pick up something for someone that they might have dropped. Give a street busker a tip. Teach a child that it is ok to make mistakes so they can learn from them. Listen to your own guidance and trust it.

Giving of yourself shows the hero within!

Being a hero to yourself means loving yourself for who you are, including all the things that you are not. You are you. Love that and pass it on.
